G²Play - Google general player

Abstract

We have made a general player because the application we invested is the first need in our mobile phone. And, in the player we are enabling our player playing multimedia data with diverse types SMOOTHLY and FRIENDLY. The player, we call G²Play. It has the components of the client side capable to select the proper codec according to the media types, and updates the components preferred by users. And in the server side, it is able to transform the media types which cannot be handled in the client side. In short, we want people like to use G-phone to surf mobile and internet multimedia.

The report from III (the part of Taiwan government for information engineering) shows the need of mobile multimedia applications is 26.3%.* Besides, we found 32% of people we asked. They hope a general player in their mobile phone. In our development, we take [1][2][3] as the references to create a prototype, not a commercial product.
